One component library for SvelteKit, Electron and Vue

Created internal component library shared across SvelteKit / Electron / Vue

  • SvelteKit
  • Electron
  • Vue

At Lumeris, teams were building the same UI more than once. The existing application was written in Vue, while the newer application ran on Electron and SvelteKit. Buttons, form controls and layout pieces were rebuilt for each one, which cost time and let the apps drift apart.

The proposal

I proposed a shared internal component library, then built it. The goal was simple: build a component once and use it in every application, whichever framework it uses.

The challenge

The library had to work in three different setups, so every component was designed with that constraint in mind from the start rather than written for one framework and ported later.

The result

The library is now shared across all three applications: Vue, Electron and SvelteKit. Teams spend less time rebuilding the same pieces, and the applications look and behave more consistently.
