Migrating 10,000+ public documents to AWS with Lambda@Edge

Led AWS migration of public document service, 10000+ documents, setting the example for how to use AWS Lambda@Edge with CloudFront CDN

  • AWS Lambda@Edge
  • AWS CloudFront

I led the AWS migration of Lumeris' public document service, the application that serves the company's public documents. The migration covered more than 10,000 documents.

The architecture

The documents are served through AWS CloudFront, Amazon's CDN, so they load quickly wherever they are requested. Lambda@Edge functions run at CloudFront locations to handle request logic close to the reader.

Setting an example

This project set the example at Lumeris for using Lambda@Edge with CloudFront. Later projects, such as the SvelteKit deployment template, also put CloudFront at the front.
